Community Action Partnership

Inter-Lakes Community Action Partnership is a community-based non-profit organization that serves primarily low-income families and senior citizens in a 14-county area of East Central South Dakota. We administer a variety of programs support through grants, donations, and other community resources to assist participants and their communities.

Inter-Lakes CAP Programs

  • Home Security Deposit
    Assistance with security deposits up to $650
  • Home Rehab
    Assistance with necessary improvements of client owned homes
  • Utility Assistance
    Provides funds for disconnect notices on utilities
  • Case Management & Protective Payee Services
    1:1 meetings with clients to assist with learning how to manage finances by paying bills and providing for basic needs before making other spending choices
  • Garden Project
    Vouchers are provided to purchase garden seeds/plants
  • School Supplies
    Families are provided with all or some of the student’s basic necessities (backpack and school supplies)
  • Angel Tree
    Gifts for eligible children at Christmas
  • Emergency Solutions Grant
    Homeless prevention / rapid rehousing
  • Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
    Available FREE to families/individuals with incomes of $60,000 or less
  • Information and Referral
    Provide information about services available from ICAP and other providers
